We decided to switch from Windows to Linux as our office-operating-system at the turn of the year. As of January, we run Mint with Windows 10 in a VirtualBox if needed. And it still is to run Adobe Cloud software like Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, etc.
We were expecting Windows 10 to turn out more secure than its predecessors. With ransomware and drive-by-downloads on the rise, that expectation was not met. Having Microsoft Office installed makes things even worse. We’d rather not risk productivity outage due to an infected system. If Windows gets messed up we can now just revert to a clean snapshot.
Even Microsoft is showing some love to Linux so this must have been a good decision.
